YU ALUM FORMS ORGANIZATION TO REVOLUTIONIZE JEWISH NON-PROFIT WORLD FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, NY December 24, 2008– JSET (Jewish Social Enterprise Training), an organization launched last year by recent Yeshiva University graduate, Meyer Laniado, offers new solutions for the Jewish non-profit world through a year-long fellowship program for passionate Jewish leaders pursuing their undergraduate degrees.
“There are many people with ideas, few who care to implement, and out of those a minimal who have the skills or the training. JSET seeks to take those with the passion and empower them with the skills to effectively make an impact.” – Meyer Laniado, Founder and Chairman of JSET
Following the year long fellowship program, the JSET fellows will have been exposed to various strategic and systemic thinking models. Through workshops with experts in their field, case study exercises, internships at national non-profits, and mentoring, students gain exposure and hands-on experience with innovative models being used in the sector. Upon the program’s completion, JSET fellows will enter the jewish non-profit field armed with cutting edge training, well-rounded perspective, and fresh energy.
JSET joins a growing roster of organizations that have emerged recently and seek to harness and develop the creative potential of young Jewish minds — future leaders who seek to find new approaches to old problems. JSET fellows, having been exposed and trained extensively in strategic thinking, will be catalysts in their organizations, moving them to become more effective and bringing the Jewish world to the next level.
Fellows are selected based on their drive and dedication to make an impact in the Jewish world, past experience and knowledge of the Jewish nonprofit sector, creativity and out of the box thinking.
12 fellows were selected to participate in the 2008-2009 program with areas of concentration and expertise ranging from marketing to engineering.
